Artology
In this class, students built robots and brought them to life through multiple forms of art and science. Students worked as artists and scientists using chemistry, drawing, papyrology, theater, bacteriology, writing, physics, photography, colorimetry, bookmaking, cartography, and more! Students began the year with a trip to Columbia College Chicago’s darkroom to explore the art and science of photography and ended the year binding books with handmade paper to tell the stories of the robots they’ve been working on all year. Guest artist Elizabeth Ernst visited and shared work combining sculpture, photography, painting, and writing.
